Due to being without power for 9 hours (ugh!) wasn’t able to post my #poemaday entry yesterday. Here it is a day late! Do I lose points?!

A limerick addressing one of my biggest pet peeves as a teacher!

There once were students with pants that would sag

They made Mrs. Bunner scream “Oh, what a drag!”

Til one day she had them on the run

As she chased them with her staple gun

“I win! ‘I win” she was able to brag!

  1. We share a hallway with our middle school. In the middle school stairwell resides a standard issue inspirational sign that reads, “Pull up your pants, Raise your level of consciousness.” I chuckle every time I see it. I have no idea how it means.

    • Hilarious! Not sure what it means either, but I’m thinking it would be a great journal write to put it up and have the kids explain!! Thanks for stopping by to share!

    • I’ll look forward to reading it! Love you April Fool’s poem! We had snow and ice our first day of Spring Break last Monday. Tomorrow (our first day back) is supposed to be 80 degrees before the colling thunderstorms arrive the next day. I’d like to have a word with the groundhog! 🙂

  2. So, I just wrote my April 4th poem on this very same subject. Thanks for the inspiration. (I’ve scheduled the post to be published tomorrow…gotta keep the poem per day pace ya know!)
